Ask The Expert
Q: My wife and I have a combined income of about $500,000. I have a savings account of $135,000. Can I contribute $5,000 from the savings account to Roth IRAs?

A:
It's unlikely. In 2013, a married couple filing taxes jointly cannot make a Roth contribution if their combined income exceed $188,000.
